Tom Aikens is one of the most popular BBC chef’s clothing. Tom was born in Norwich in 1970, and began cooking at the age of sixteen. His early exposure to good food and wine came from his grandfather and father, both of whom worked as wine merchants. Tom took with them on regular trips to the mainland, sampling the best of regional cuisine of France. Tom and Rob, his twin brother, studied at the Hotel School at City College in Norwich, where Tom completed his advanced degree in the House in 1989. After graduation, he landed a job as a cook at the restaurant Mirabelle Eastbourne commission.
He later worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants, including Pied a Terre in London. He moved to France for a year to gain more experience in three Michelin-starred restaurants there. When he returned to London in 1996 he rejoined Pied a Terre as its co-owner and head chef. At the age of 26 became the youngest head chef ever to win a second Michelin star. After Tom left a dispute Pied à Terre and became chef of La Tante Claire’s head. In 1998, Tom was working clothes corporate identity in the private sector, development of organic products Bamford family and Lord Lloyd Webber. He opened his own eponymous restaurant in 2003 in London, which soon gained a Michelin star. He opened his second restaurant Tom’s Kitchen in 2006, and published his first cookbook of the same year.
Ed Baines is the tall and handsome owner of the oyster bar Randall & Aubin champagne in the Soho district of London, which is becoming one of the most popular chefs on the radio. The Carlton Food Network issued its first TV series Lunch with Ed Baines, which was Ed’s kitchen and then lunching with his famous friends of Randall & Aubin. Some of the women had lunch with glamorous include Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Darcey Bussell, Meg Mathews, Mariella Frostrup and. In 1999, Ed completed a six-part series called entertains Ed Baines, which was filmed at Randall & Aubin and broadcast on ITV. Two series were broadcast in 2000 and 2001. It has also been highlighted as a chef in the BBC’s Housecall lifestyle. Ed put a chef’s hat with a two-year apprenticeship at London’s Dorchester under Anton Mosimann.
He spent several years cooking in hotels and exclusive yacht in Juan-les-Pins in France, and in Queensland, Australia. On his return to London he worked at Bibendum, and the River Café. He published his first book, entertaining, in 2001, and has been interviewed by Time Out, Evening Standard and The Sunday Times.
